And the desire to take it beyond

An independent project, one creator.

My name is Simon Pertus. As a developer, I create baræ games for time with friends or a solo break. I work on their rules and interfaces, and develop them through player feedback.

The games stay free. Each game page explains its format, players and rules before you start.

A name, an intention

Creation meets
experience.

bara

The urge to create.

The name draws on the Hebrew verb בָּרָא, bara, associated with creating. It is notably used in the creation account in Genesis 1:1.

Read Genesis 1:1
e

Experience.

The E gives creation a destination: what someone will feel, use or share. An idea becomes real when someone can make it their own.

baræ

The meeting point.

A and E come together in Æ. This ligature expresses the studio’s intention: to think about creation and experience together. The name baræ is built around that meeting.

Behind the scenes at baræ

Playing stays free.

Advertising helps keep baræ running: hosting the site, maintaining the games, and creating new ones.

The goal stays the same: games everyone can play for free.

Ideas that find a place in real life.

Why baræ ?

Create something.
Bring more to life.

The starting point is simple: ideas reach their full meaning when they find a place in everyday life.

baræ gives a home to that desire to create games and apps. A thoughtful interface, the pace of a round and a clearly written rule all serve the same purpose: making the experience enjoyable.

The name’s biblical inspiration is part of this story. It belongs to a studio open to many kinds of creation, always mindful of the people who will discover them.

Digital tools are a creative playground. Laughter around a table, the joy of understanding and the urge to play again are where that creativity leads.

Our guiding idea

Meaning and care.
And room for others.

  1. Meaning, from the start.

Start with a clear intention and a real use. Know what a creation can offer the person discovering it.

  2. Care in the details.

Choose the words, shapes and interactions. Make people want to step in, then let the experience unfold naturally.

  3. Room for others.

Create experiences that people can make their own, share and enjoy in their own way.

For people.
In
real life.
